The Family Nurse Practitioner option prepares an APRN with a solid foundation to diagnose and treat acute, episodic, and chronic illnesses independently or as part of a healthcare team; practice experiences are designed to empower students to provide comprehensive medical care to clients across the lifespan with a focus on health promotion, disease prevention, and overall wellness for all developmental stages; features a curriculum that supports the growth and maintenance of quality, evidence-based health care; and emphasizes health disparities, Social Determinants of Health (SDOH), Healthy People 2030, diversity, inclusion, and equity of the client in the provision of care.
