The 100% Online Graduate Certificate in TESOL is designed to provide students with fundamental skills and entry-level credentials for teaching English to speakers of other languages. The program prepares students to teach non-native speakers of English in community programs, language schools and other similar programs both in the United States and internationally. All credits can be applied toward the Master of Arts TESOL/Bilingual Education degree.
Minimum Admission Requirements
GPA: 3.0 advanced standing, 2.5 full or part time standing
Standardized testing requirement: Not Applicable
English Proficiency Testing: English proficiency testing is required for 1. people whose undergraduate education was not in the US and 2. people from non-English speaking countries, and 3. non-English speakers generally. However, if a student did their undergraduate education in the U.S., then they do not need to submit a TOEFL.

Program-Specific Admission Requirements
Earned bachelor’s degree and meet language proficiency requirements for English (and target language for those pursuing bilingual education); or be a current undergraduate student with senior status and a minimum 3.0 overall GPA (may apply during junior year, and must submit a letter of recommendation from student’s advisor, in addition to the two required letters of recommendation. Must complete bachelor’s degree prior to beginning the final semester of study in the MA program.
